Lifetime Honorary Chairman, TYLin

Man-Chung Tang is a Chinese-American, a world-renowned bridge master, a member of the United States National Academy of Engineering, a foreign member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, a foreign member of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, UK, a Doctor of Engineering, an Honorary Doctor of Literature, and an honorary professor at more than 10 universities in China.
In 2007, he was awarded the title of "Chongqing Honorary Citizen" by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government. In September 2008, he received the highest honor awarded to foreign experts by the Chinese government—the National "Friendship Award"—and was honorably received by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao. In 2010, he became a recipient of a lifetime achievement award from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)—Outstanding Projects and Leaders (OPAL) Award.
In 1999, Dr. Tang was named by Engineering News-Record (ENR) as one of the 125 most influential engineers in global construction over the past 125 years. He has led and participated in the design, construction, and supervision of over 100 major bridges, six of which set world records for span length upon completion. His projects span Europe, the Americas, Asia, and beyond, earning him the industry accolade that "the sun always shines on his bridges." In 2010, Dr. Tang received two lifetime achievement awards: the OPAL Award from the ASCE and the Award of Merit in Structural Engineering from the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE). In 2013, Dr. Tang was awarded the Gold Medal by the Institution of Structural Engineers (ISE) in recognition of his contributions to global bridge engineering.
